About The Hyde Hotel
Built in 1874 and reborn as Hyde London City, this striking hotel is located in the historic Spiers & Pond building at the heart of London. With its vibrant dining spots, iconic landmarks, and charming surroundings, Hyde London City offers a distinctive blend of bohemian flair and Victorian elegance. The interiors are fun, playful, and stylish, ensuring that every guest experiences a unique and luxurious stay. From patterned wallpapers and rich textures to carefully curated vintage accents, the design reflects a seamless fusion of past and present. Guests can wake up to stunning views of the Old Bailey, further enhancing the hotel's connection to its historic surroundings.
The Brief
Fitzroy of London collaborated with Studio Moren to help provide luxury accessible bathrooms for the hotel’s guest rooms. The challenge was to ensure that the inclusive bathroom design seamlessly complemented the hotel's playful and stylish aesthetic while meeting all accessibility standards.
Our Approach
Boutique hotels often have distinct design themes, which can make sourcing accessible bathroom products that align with the overall aesthetic challenging. Interior designer Sarah Yuma from Studio Moren wanted to ensure that the accessible bathrooms reflected the hotel’s design vision rather than feeling like an afterthought.
Fitzroy of London worked closely with Sarah to identify products that met both functional and aesthetic requirements. Given the tight deadlines common with refurbishment projects, we quickly provided samples and technical specifications to support compliance checks. This streamlined approach enabled Studio Moren to make confident, informed decisions without delaying the project timeline.
Sarah opted for our Gosfield Collection in an Anthracite PVD finish, which complemented the brassware used in non-accessible rooms. This ensured design consistency across all guest bathrooms while maintaining the highest standards of inclusive bathroom functionality.
