About Le Scribe, Paris

The Sofitel Scribe Paris Opéra has stood at the heart of Parisian life for over 150 years. Located on the prestigious right bank, just moments from the Opéra Garnier and Place Vendôme, it blends historic grandeur with modern sophistication. The hotel’s recent transformation by Atelier Tristan Auer has reimagined it as an intimate Haussmann residence - a true reflection of Parisian style, charm, and elegance.

The Brief

The design brief for Le Scribe called for the seamless integration of accessible bathroom products that would honour the hotel's refined aesthetic while meeting strict accessibility regulations. Each accessible bathroom needed to echo the hotel's design DNA – elegant, tactile, timeless – while delivering superior functionality and compliance.

This project presented a challenge familiar to many interior designers working in the luxury hospitality sector: how to balance exquisite design with the technical requirements of inclusive bathroom spaces in a way that enhances the overall guest journey.

Our Approach

Fitzroy of London supplied customisable accessible bathroom products from our Signature Range and classically inspired Portland Collection. This collection draws on architectural symmetry and historic European influences – a perfect match for the grandeur and refined lines of Le Scribe, with our custom electroplated rose gold shower seat.

We worked closely with the designers to ensure every detail aligned with the hotel’s stylistic direction – from the silhouette of the grab rails to the placement of accessible features. The use of premium materials and tailored finishes ensured that practicality and elegance existed in harmony throughout each space.

Our approach centred on discretion – inclusive features that blended seamlessly with the broader design narrative, proving that accessibility doesn’t need to be clinical or intrusive.

The Result

The final bathrooms at Le Scribe Paris are a testament to the power of thoughtful, well-executed accessible bathroom design. Guests benefit from environments that are both intuitive and aesthetically refined – fully compliant spaces that feel like a natural extension of the hotel’s luxurious interiors.

Every inclusive bathroom meets the high expectations of modern travellers without compromising on visual harmony. From comfort-height WCs to beautifully detailed support rails, every element was carefully selected to uphold the hotel’s exceptional design standards.
