About Diageo & Turner House
Architects Former UK and Fayers Plumbing commissioned Fitzroy of London to deliver a design-led solution that would align with Diageo’s vision of a world-class, inclusive workplace.
Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, employs over 900 staff members across various locations.
The Challenge
Post COVID-19, Diageo’s strategy emphasised creating an inclusive and accessible workplace, reflecting its ambition to become one of the most inclusive employers globally. This strategy brought Diageo to Turner House, 16 Great Marlborough Street, London, which required a complete refurbishment to meet the company's diverse needs.
The refurbishment of Turner House was more than just modernising the office space; it was about ensuring that the facilities, including the bathrooms, were classy, minimalistic, and modern, all while being inclusive and accessible.
Honing in on the bathrooms Diageo and the Architect needed to achieve a blend of modern aesthetics with functional accessibility while ensuring it did not feel clinical.
The Solution
Fitzroy of London’s holistic approach focused on delivering products and co-creating an inspiring space that embodied Diageo’s culture and commitment to employee well-being.
Fitzroy of London’s in-house design experts and specification managers worked closely with Diageo Former UK Architects, Fayers Plumbing and other contractors. Given the involvement of multiple providers, we ensured that we delivered beautifully crafted, inclusive bathrooms and honoured our promise of partnership.
The Gosfield range from Fitzroy of London’s Signature Collection was recommended for its minimalistic design and sophisticated appeal. Its clean lines and flowing transitions provided a harmonious and well-balanced look. A bespoke Matt Black inclusive bathroom pack was included, offering all necessary items in a matching finish, simplifying the installation process.
The Results
This project played a crucial role in reinforcing Diageo’s reputation as an inclusive employer. It made it easier for the company to attract and retain top talent and continues to contribute to enhanced employee attractiveness for Diageo. The installation of the Gosfield range resulted in bathrooms that were not only accessible and inclusive but also perfectly aligned with Diageo’s desire for a non-clinical and functional environment.
The collaboration between Fitzroy of London, Former UK Architects, and Fayers Plumbing led to a smooth design and installation process, with Fitzroy of London providing ongoing support from inception to completion. For Fayers Plumbing, the successful completion of this project bolstered their reputation, leading to further collaborations. The quality of the work delivered by Fitzroy of London positioned both the architects and the plumbers as key players in creating accessible and modern workspaces.
The project stands as a testament to Fitzroy of London’s commitment to delivering modern, aesthetic, and inclusive bathroom solutions that not only meet but exceed client expectations.
