The Fitzroy of London Solution for Clayton Hotel

About Drum Street Hotel

Studio Moren is an award-winning practice of architecture and interior design specialists working right across the hospitality spectrum. Based in London and working internationally with live projects throughout the UK, Europe and Africa, it has established a world-renowned reputation, with the design-led ethos of ‘Creating Places People Want To Stay’ at the heart of everything we do.

The Brief

Studio Moren approached Fitzroy of London to assist on refurbishing the bathrooms for Clayton Hotel City of London, 10 Drum Street London.

Studio Moren sought to seamlessly match the hotel’s existing accessible washroom fixtures and fittings with the space's unique design, including an existing tap style. To guarantee that the accessible restrooms complemented the hotel's overall design, a great degree of customisation was necessary. There was also a tight budget in place, so our solution had to maintain the hotel's quality requirements while yet being cost-effective.

The Solution

Fitzroy of London offered a bespoke customisation, complete with a flange that matched the current taps, to satisfy these specific requirements. The Hanson Collection from the Signature range was the recommendation. This collection, which is known for its sleek lines and understated elegance, provided a perfect balance between affordability and individuality.

  • Modernistic and minimalist: The Hanson Collection transforms simplicity into art, delivering clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic that enhances any luxury accessible bathroom setting.

  • Bespoke customisation: By tailoring the accessories to match the existing fixtures, we ensured that the accessible washrooms would not only comply with all regulations but also integrate seamlessly with the hotel’s unique design vision.

The result

This project highlights the three key features that show how a luxury accessible bathroom can be aesthetically pleasing and practical at the same time. This proves how any high-quality hospitality space may improve visitor experiences.

The hotel now has accessible washrooms that go above and beyond current building codes, guaranteeing visitors a degree of comfort and quality comparable with the hotel's overall luxury. The flexibility of the design allows for adaptable products, ensuring that the high standards of luxury are maintained while accommodating the needs of all users.

  • Adaptability: Removable products ensure the washrooms can be tailored for each guest, while maintaining the same standards of finish and luxury.
  • Exceptional guest experience: The accessible accommodations not only comply with regulations but also enhance the guest experience, reflecting the same high-end design and quality found throughout the rest of the hotel.

By delivering bespoke, compliant solutions, the New Drum Street hotel now boasts an exceptional washroom experience for every guest, regardless of their needs.
