About MiMi Mei Fair
Behind the discreet doors of a three-storied Georgian townhouse in Mayfair, London, lies Empress Mimi’s captivating world of opulence and artistry. MiMi Mei Fair is more than a restaurant - it’s a theatrical, immersive dining experience inspired by the private residence of a mythical empress. Guests journey through spaces echoing with whispers of tradition, culinary secrets, and exquisite Chinese craftsmanship. Designed by Fabled Studio, the interiors blend intricate details, luxurious textures, and historical motifs to transport diners into a hidden world where beauty, mystery, and flavour intertwine.
The Brief
The design brief called for an accessible bathroom that would sit comfortably within the restaurant’s theatrical and historic aesthetic - without feeling clinical or out of place.
Fabled Studio sought a partner who could provide the technical expertise and customisation needed to align accessibility with their bold creative vision. The challenge wasn’t simply compliance - it was achieving a seamless integration of function and beauty, within the limitations of a period building.
Our Approach
Fitzroy of London worked in close collaboration with the design team to support their creative direction through tailored product solutions. The bathroom needed to reflect the richness of the surrounding interiors—while still delivering ease of use for all guests.
Using customisable accessible bathroom products, the design was adapted to suit both the spatial parameters and visual language of the restaurant. A carefully selected finish mirrored the depth and tone of nearby materials, helping the space flow effortlessly from front of house to back.
The focus remained on detail, craftsmanship, and ensuring the accessible elements felt considered—not added on.

The Result
The completed bathroom sits naturally within the overall concept. It reflects the same attention to atmosphere and aesthetic storytelling seen throughout Mimi Mei Fair, with accessible features woven discreetly into the design.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful specification and collaboration can allow inclusive bathroom design to enhance, rather than interrupt, a space’s identity.
Value to the Customer
For interior designers working in hospitality and high-end environments, Mimi Mei Fair offers a valuable reference point: accessibility doesn’t mean compromising on creativity. With the right support, accessible bathrooms can express the same visual language as any other part of the interior.
Fitzroy of London partners with design teams to solve the technical challenges of luxury accessible bathrooms, ensuring that every solution reflects the intent and originality of the wider design scheme.
