About Tim Hortons

In 2017, Tim Hortons, the well-known international coffee shop and restaurant chain from Canada, made its way to the UK and quickly gained popularity. Uniformity and excellent standards throughout all franchises became crucial as their UK presence increased.

The challenge

Tim Hortons awarded the award-winning architecture company SK Group the responsibility of renovating the restrooms at its restaurants in 2020. Their objective was to create high-quality, consistent design that could be seamlessly implemented across both existing and future UK franchises. The answer had to be cost-effective, adhere to strict UK requirements, and be ready for prompt delivery to prevent any delays in their quick expansion.

The Solution

Fitzroy of London stepped in at the request of Plumbase Plumbing, a long-time supplier to SK Group and partner of Fitzroy of London since 2014. Working closely with Plumbase, we identified the best products from our Pro Range, which is engineered for ease of installation, user safety, and fully accessible disability bathrooms.

Our Pro Range is comprehensive, offering a range of DOC M-compliant solutions that not only meet regulatory requirements but also embody classic, minimalistic, modern, and aesthetic design principles. With over 20 years of experience in design, DOC M, as well as international compliance, Fitzroy of London brought the necessary expertise to ensure the success of this project.

One of the most significant advantages we provided was our just-in-time delivery model. By stocking the necessary products, we eliminated the need for Plumbase to hold inventory, delivering everything directly to the site as needed. This approach fit perfectly within Tim Hortons’ budget and design brief, while also supporting their operational efficiency.

The Result

The project resulted in a consistent design across all Tim Hortons locations in the UK, ensuring that customers enjoyed the same high standards no matter where they visited. The availability of products on demand allowed the expansion to stay on schedule, with no delays. Moreover, the just-in-time delivery model reduced costs by eliminating the need for on-site storage.
