About Hard Rock Hotel, London

In April 2019, the iconic Hard Rock Hotel London opened its doors, marking a significant transformation of the former Cumberland Hotel into a vibrant destination that embodies the spirit of music and luxury. Located at the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane, this 900-room establishment features dynamic public spaces, including two bars and the renowned Hard Rock Café.

The Brief

Collaborating with esteemed designers Scott Brownrigg, construction company BECK London, and bathroom specialists CP Hart, Fitzroy of London was entrusted with the task of delivering accessible washroom solutions that seamlessly integrate with the hotel's distinctive aesthetic. The objective was to design and craft luxury accessible washrooms that not only comply with accessibility standards but also resonate with the hotel's rock 'n' roll heritage and contemporary design. We were tasked with bringing stylish, design-led accessibility products into their public areas whilst keeping with the aesthetic of the overall design.

Our Approach

Understanding the importance of blending functionality with high-end design, we selected products from our Signature Range, specifically the Flangeless Gosfield Collection, finished in PVD Satin Brass. This choice ensured durability and added a touch of elegance, aligning with the hotel's opulent interiors. Our team worked closely with Scott Brownrigg to ensure that the design elements of the accessible and ambulant washrooms in the public areas mirrored the sophistication and thematic consistency of the hotel's overall design.

The Result

The completed accessible washrooms stand as a testament to the successful fusion of inclusivity and luxury. The PVD Satin Brass finish not only provides a visually striking appeal but also offers resilience against wear, essential for high-traffic areas. The fixtures from the Flangeless Gosfield Collection contribute to a cohesive design narrative, ensuring that guests of all abilities experience the same level of comfort and style throughout the hotel's facilities.
