About Ruby Lilou Marseille

Located between Marseille’s historic Vieux Port and the business district of La Joliette, Ruby Lilou Hotel Marseille brings together the city's cultural heritage, Mediterranean lifestyle and distinctive design character. Inspired by Marseille's harbour energy and the warmth of Provence, the hotel combines natural stone, plaster and warm timber tones with bold accents and layered detailing to create a space that feels authentic, relaxed and full of personality.

Fitzroy of London worked alongside DavidB Paris to deliver accessible washroom solutions that aligned with the project's hospitality vision while supporting the practical requirements of accessibility and compliance.

The Brief

The design team required an accessible washroom solution that would integrate seamlessly into the hotel's carefully curated interior scheme.

As with many hospitality projects, it was essential that accessibility formed part of the overall design narrative rather than appearing as a separate or purely functional addition. The accessible washrooms needed to support guest comfort, dignity and usability while complementing the characterful aesthetic that defines Ruby Lilou.

The project also required a solution robust enough for long-term use in a hospitality environment without compromising on visual quality.

Our Approach

Working closely with DavidB Paris, Fitzroy of London supplied products from our Signature range in a Polished Stainless Steel finish.

The selection was guided by a simple principle: accessibility should feel integrated, intentional and consistent with the wider interior design scheme. The refined finish provided the durability required for a busy hospitality environment while supporting the hotel's contemporary material palette and design language.

As accessible bathroom experts, we focus on helping specifiers navigate the complexities of compliance without restricting creativity. By addressing technical requirements early in the specification process, we enabled the design team to maintain their vision while ensuring the accessible washroom provision met the project's functional requirements.

This approach reflects the principles of inclusive bathroom design: balancing accessibility, compliance, performance and aesthetics without compromise.

The Result

The completed accessible washrooms sit comfortably within the wider design experience of Ruby Lilou Hotel Marseille.

Rather than drawing attention to accessibility features as separate elements, the washrooms form part of a cohesive guest journey that reflects the character of the hotel. The polished stainless steel specification complements the overall interior palette while providing the durability and reliability demanded within hospitality environments.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful accessible bathroom design can contribute positively to a hospitality setting, supporting both guest experience and design intent.

Value to the Customer

For DavidB Paris and the wider project team, the value extended beyond product supply.

Fitzroy of London provided a solution that helped balance aesthetic ambitions with practical accessibility requirements. The result delivers:

  • A design-led approach to accessibility that supports the overall hotel concept.
  • Durable and reliable accessible bathroom products suited to hospitality environments.
  • Confidence that accessibility requirements have been considered from the outset.
  • A cohesive guest experience that promotes dignity, comfort and usability.
  • Simplified specification through a coordinated solution from experienced bathroom design experts.

For architects and designers looking for bathroom examples that demonstrate how accessibility can be integrated into high-quality hospitality interiors, Ruby Lilou Hotel Marseille illustrates the value of considering accessibility as part of the design process from the very beginning.

As specialists in luxury accessible bathrooms, Fitzroy of London continues to support architects, designers and contractors with solutions that enable inclusive environments without compromising on visual quality.
