About The Derby London City, Curio Collection by Hilton

Located in the City of London, The Derby London City, Curio Collection by Hilton overlooks the historic St Dunstan in the East Church and Gardens and sits moments from major cultural destinations including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and Tate Modern. Select guest rooms offer breathtaking views of The Shard, London Bridge, and the River Thames, complemented by an all-day restaurant, bar, and coffeehouse.

The Brief

Working with Beggs & Partners and Dominus, Fitzroy of London was chosen to supply the luxury accessible bathrooms items throughout this contemporary 234-room hotel. The project required expert compliance guidance on inclusive bathroom design that aligned with the hotel’s refined aesthetic, met all regulatory standards, and delivered exceptional comfort for all guests.

The design vision centred on creating spaces that balanced sophistication, heritage, and modernity - mirroring the hotel’s architecture and interiors, which reinterpret British craftsmanship through a contemporary lens.

Our Approach

As accessible bathroom experts, Fitzroy of London advised the project team on how to seamlessly integrate accessibility into a luxury hospitality environment.

We supplied products from our Signature Range, specifically the Gosfield Collection in a Satin Gold finish, to complement the warm tones and modern elegance of The Derby’s interiors. This choice supported the hotel’s commitment to craftsmanship and character while meeting accessibility needs.

We assisted the design and contractor teams navigate technical requirements for luxury accessible bathrooms, ensuring every space met safety and usability standards without interrupting the visual harmony of the surrounding interior architecture.

The Result

The finished bathrooms now reflect an elevated approach to accessible bathroom design, where the beauty of the Satin Gold finish enhances both aesthetic appeal and practicality. The Derby’s commitment to heritage and contemporary finesse is mirrored in each space, offering guests a refined, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

These bathrooms not only meet operational demands for durability and performance but also serve as inspiring bathroom examples of how luxury and accessibility can seamlessly coexist.

Value to the Customer

For interior designers, architects, and contractors, this project demonstrates how thoughtful collaboration with bathroom design experts can unlock design possibilities that honour both creativity and compliance.

The Derby now stands as a benchmark for inclusive luxury within London’s hospitality landscape.
