About W Budapest

Housed in the historic Drechsler Palace, W Budapest is a modern-day homage to the city’s rich heritage. Situated along Andrássy Avenue, one of Budapest’s most iconic streets, the hotel blends the grandeur of the Belle Époque with contemporary luxury. Inspired by the city’s vibrant café culture and its legendary figures - including the glamour of Zsa Zsa Gabor and the illusionary artistry of Houdini - W Budapest offers a visually immersive experience. Every design detail is meticulously curated, ensuring an atmosphere of timeless elegance with a playful twist.

The Brief

Creating an interior that respects the historic setting while embodying modern luxury required a careful balance of aesthetic and functionality. The interior designers at Bowler James Brindley sought to infuse the hotel with a bold and theatrical identity, ensuring the luxury accessible bathrooms reflected the brand’s avant-garde spirit. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate inclusive bathroom design without compromising the hotel’s opulent and artistic vision.

Our Approach

Fitzroy of London worked closely with the design team to supply bespoke accessible bathroom products that met both high-end aesthetic standards and accessibility requirements. The Gosfield Collection, in Polished Chrome from our Signature Range, in a stainless steel finish, was selected for its sleek, contemporary elegance and superior durability.

  • The polished chrome finish enhances the hotel's sophisticated, modern palette while providing a timeless touch.

  • The Gosfield Collection’s sleek design complements the refined, architectural aesthetic of W Budapest.

  • Customisable elements ensured that each bathroom blended seamlessly into the hotel's unique design narrative while maintaining full accessibility compliance.

The Result & Value to the Customer

The W Budapest stands as a testament to how luxury accessible bathrooms can be both visually stunning and functionally exceptional. The collaboration between Bowler James Brindley, Marriott International, and Fitzroy of London resulted in bathrooms that are sophisticated, seamless, and accessible for all.

By integrating Fitzroy of London’s accessible bathroom design expertise, W Budapest successfully achieved an environment where luxury and inclusivity coexist harmoniously.

  • Guests of all abilities can enjoy a refined, thoughtfully designed space without barriers.

  • The hotel upholds its brand promise of innovation and opulence while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.

  • The design solutions enhance guest comfort without detracting from the overall grandeur and aesthetic integrity of the hotel.

Memorial Houston Medical (MhM) in South Kensington reimagines clinical recovery as a design‑led experience - six patient suites set within a former jewellery boutique on Fulham Road, curated with museum‑grade art and hospitality training from the Dorchester Collection Academy.
Materials such as Calacatta marble, bronzed brass and eucalyptus wood create a calming aesthetic, complemented by a 24‑carat gold leaf ceiling mural of London’s streets and waterways that crowns the wellness area. Neuroaesthetics guide the interior palette and artwork selection to positively influence mood and aid recovery; an ethos visible from reception to ensuite bathrooms.
