An Interview with Salacia at Escapade, Silverstone

Founder & Managing Director Ollie Streek from premium sanitary-ware supplier, Salacia, has taken accessible bathroom design to the racetrack – with curated spaces at Escapade, Silverstone.

A trackside destination at the home of British motorsport, Escapade is a unique development that blends luxury hospitality with an immersive experience for car enthusiasts. Fitzroy of London worked with Salacia - specialists in trade, hospitality and residential – to deliver visually beautiful and compliant accessible washrooms for the Escapade residences.

“This Escapade suite is located on the Maggotts and Becketts corners, which are the two fastest corners at the Silverstone track; the best and most prominent position on the circuit,” says Ollie.

The Design

We spoke with Ollie to hear more about the design of the residence bathrooms, the importance of inclusive spaces and why Salacia chose to work with us.

“We treat accessibility like we would any other bathroom,” says Ollie, “The idea is that accessibility is thought of from day one rather than an afterthought. Durability as well as aesthetics are equally important when specifying bathroom products.”

Combining elegance, inclusivity, quality materials and performance, solutions from Fitzroy of London’s Style collection were chosen in a Matt Black finish for their bold and modern visual appeal. Complementing the contemporary interiors perfectly, the finish of our Grab Rails, Hinged Support Rails, Shower Seats and Back Rests looks effortless with the colourful yet minimalist, sleek interior.

Why Fitzroy of London was Specified

“Fitzroy of London helped us design and specify the accessible bathrooms to make sure they aligned with the aesthetic of the rest of the hospitality suites and residences. Fitzroy of London for us is our go-to premium Doc M supplier. The products look and feel premium and set them apart from your standard, off-the-shelf Doc M.

It's important we work with partners that are like-minded. They understand the regulations and they can point us in the right direction,” says Ollie.
